Testors discontinues Model Master products

Just thought I would post a little heads up. We have learned from multiple distributors that Testors is discontinuing the entire Model Master line, paint, tools, everything. Not wanting to add paint to your toilet paper panic buying but if there is a color you particularly need, now is the time to stock up.

I know you are in the hobby business, but is this absolutely reliable news?
Back in 2017 there was panic because of a similar rumor being spread, where in fact they only discontinued the international military and figure colours.

And if this is true, then what will Testors still have left to sell?

Balsa wood airplanes? Er wait, I guess they've been gone for over 40 years.

They'll still have their line of awful enamels in those little rectangular bottles I was using to deface plastic airplane kits when I was 7. They're also into craft paints and materials as well.

That line should have been first to go, years ago.  But I'm also pretty sure that the actual enamel in those bottles is the same as Model Master. Just different colors and packaging.  They all smell the same to me, and my nose is a good chemical analyzer of paint.  :)

And True Color Paints too.  Then there are Humbrol and Tamiya.  Then there are several lines of water-based acrylic hobby paints.

Okay, so my dirty little secret is that still, after all these years, if I really want to paint something silver or gold, I reach for those awful little rectangular bottles of enamel.  I think they are still the best for those two colors.

Unfortunately, from my point of view, the Model Master acrylic line was the best of the water based acrylics.

Problem, I suspect, is that so few of us paint models anymore.  It is the sort of thing that "enlightened" parents don't let their kids do nowadays.  No more model car or airplane kits (not to mention model paints) at the local big box stores- something that was still fairly common, at least around here, as recently as 5-10 years ago.

Is this a branding thing? Or are they getting entirely out of the paint biz?

Didn't this come up last year?  And then some of us actually called Testors and found out that it was only overseas?  Is this the same rumor come 'round again or some new rumor?
