Just got the email announcing Atlas release of a GP60. Nice to have sound option and working ditch lights. Might be a good leader for my existing FVM sets.

Good to see the old LifeLike units out again.

I've probably already got too many LL and FVMs, but a sound option, ditch lights and lower flange wheels are tempting....

Life-Like tooling...that didn't occur to me (and I didn't read the fine print), the Atlas website isn't responding for me since I first accessed it.
Must be some changes to add the ditch lights and sound.
I did think it was strange to release a model that's been done by 2 others and not do the GP50 which hasn't been done for 3 decades.

My thoughts too.
I doubt the ditch lights will be able to alternately flash though. Will probably be like the Sd60e and be light tubes lit by a single on decoder led.
I have more gp60’s than I need already, fvm and LL.  But those SP and Rio Grande and TM units are sooo tempting.

Interesting.   FVM did not do so good on the ditchlights, but the details are awesome.  So I wonder how these will compare.  Having both FVM and LL units in my stable already it's hard to see how these will fit in.

No Santa Fe is odd.

I didn’t see anything mentioned in the release about correct truck sideframes. My original LL DRGW had standard Blomberg B trucks.

I have one of the 2012 releases of the Walthers GP60.   I am assuming Atlas is using the Walthers tooling for the shell.  I am not only impressed with the details of the shell but it runs every bit as good as my Katos.  My locomotive mechanism is DCC ready.  It will be interesting if Atlas uses it or something else.   If  Atlas uses the Walthers trucks,  they will be the correct Blomberg M type.

If all this tooling is based on the walthers units that will be good for all of us that have the Older LL versions as well for new trucks and other parts.
I love the LL and later LL/Walthers GP60s they are gems.

I always thought Blomberg Ms were used on the GP50 with short rubber dampers in the leaf springs and GP60s used Ph2 Blomberg Ms with the original style long metal leaf springs and an additional horizontal damper. It looks like to me the Walthers trucks are Blomberg Ms.

Good to see the Walthers tooling continue to be of use to Atlas.

Would rather see them do totally new product like U Boats. Why we have no U30, 33 or 36 Bs or Cs as applicable is confusing.

LL/Walthers fixed that on the later run GP60 I had.

Glad to see these making a comeback!

On the SP units, the positioning of the flank lettering on the SP units is a bit off based on artwork shown. The "O" needs to be centered directly over the site glass.
