Ya this has been a long time in the making. Now train NRFF (North Reading Fast Freight) makes a direct trip from Reading to Scranton. Before they had to take the train to Jim Thorpe and then a second set would grab it from the rear and haul it up the Lehigh Gorge. So now that its running up the Lehigh Gorge in daylight (1-1.5% grade) with 3-4 units, and super on time the photo ops are going to be good. Funny this bridge went online near the same week Norfolk Southern bailed on its twice daily thru freights from Bethlehem Pa to Bingingtom NY which pass on the right side of this video, then merge on to the Reading and Northern mainline about 7 miles north of this bridge.
The President Andy is such a RR fan, he piloted the first revenue train over the bridge.

Oh and here is the second horseshoe curve on that mainline about 12 miles north in the gorge.
