I had a Wordpress website for the PRR. I don't use it anymore. I've moved my Wordpress instance over for my business, so whatever's still out there is static. Hosting the photos the old fashioned way on a static page is such an a$$-pain. We have this great gallery opportunity here but I just can't understand why I'm having problems when I see other photos shared through the gallery that clearly have a fuller dynamic color range. I cannot possibly be the only iPhone 8 guy here. No way.
So all I did was rename and save this file on my computer and uploaded it to the gallery. From what I can tell, it's good. There may be an issue with the phone and how it saves image info.Jason
Dave .. it appears to be a combination of things . there is a library called GD -- it does a bunch of stuff to images, including striping out some paramaters that control color and such .. unfortunately, it doesn't put the info back in after it resizes .. I saw some references online that software would have to write the data back .. I don't believe the Gallery SW does that ..
hey Daveare you uploading directly from your camera/phone?or is there a software or app you're using to go from source to image to upload?thanksGary
I confess to not knowing all the ins and outs of the image processing world, but how is it possible that you could take my dull, compressed photo and recover the original color palette?
I haven't done that. I took your good image hosted off-site, renamed and saved it to my computer and uploaded it to the gallery and it was still okay. I may have done the same for the attachment I tried that saved the color. My wife has an Iphone XS, maybe I can replicate what's going on.Jason
I don’t see what all the fuss is about. The era you’re modeling was mostly black & white photography after all. Now for serious comment... great photos.
This guy actually only has one eyebrow really well:
