Tree trunk tape situation is only an issue in photos. On the layout, you watch the train going by, not the trees.

So that reminds me. I had a similar issue with a foggy lens. At least on the phone I had at the time you could replace them. That might be an option for you.

This pic is awesome. Just look at the dirt road to the left of the tracks in front of the downed tree. That is just fantastic looking.
