Kato tends to look at each project as a line item and in some ways looks at future derivations years later as a separate enterprise.Luckily the E7 doesn’t involve dynamic brakes, but pilot variations, headlight, numberboard, steam generator types and single or dual, and phase (even within NYC) come into play. Will the NYC have small NB, 45 degree? Which of four or five pilot styles? Coupler covers, open, closed, removed? NYC should have single HL, but that eliminates some future quick paint job releases right there.
Very disappointed there's no E7B. Especially if we see SP Daylight E7's in the future.
We will most likely never see one in WP which they could sell for the CZ.
WP never had any "E" units. They only used "F" units on the CZ. They always keep the traction trucks to 2 axles right up till the time UP bought them. So, yes we will never see any in WP paint
So glad you choose to take what I said out of context, I was referring to the FP7 which the WP did have.
I got ya now. I didn't read it that way and understand what you said now.
Only other road that I know off the top of my head that single headlight E7As was PRR, though I'm sure there were others.
The Texas Special used single headlight E7's as well (Katy and Frisco).
