Only the first picture appears in the post, the other two no.
@OldEastRR...if you are referring to my pictures, not to worry
past weekend:
1. stripped
2. repainted (3rd time)
3. decaling to happen soon
4. will get photos then and post here

thanks for all the input and responses
sincerely

Gary,

I really admire your willingness to start over when you find your own in need of improvement. I have a hard time doing that.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

so, here it is as of today
1. decals removed
2. touch up paint
3. re-decaled
4. had to go with what i had
5. 3 digit number instead of the more prototypical 4 digits
6. it's a foobie, so no big deal...seems to be a shortage of micro-scale 60-21
7. next is dullcoat, probably tomorrow
8. my camera is lousy at closeups

Is this going to be used in passenger or freight service?

Are you trying to duplicate the Pennsy's F unit freight striping and paint? Since it's a cab-like loco.

no, that is not the plan
it is simply taking a locomotive that has a strong connection with my mom and dad
they gave me an HO scale BL2 Rock Island for my tenth Christmas
since I model PRR I wanted to paint and decal in a "what if" mode
knowing it is a foobie and going for the memoralizing of my experience through the
ages in the hobby, especially how my dad got me involved with the Lionel under
the Christmas tree

while I will be running it, just like I do the Athearn F59PHI in PRR Tuscan Paint,
it will just be for the fun involved...JRT even when they are foobies

Alrighty...i am going to stop messing with decals, I promise!
Yesterday had a nothing to do schedule for the afternoon
so I saw myself revisiting the single stripe decaling
this time i made sure it was newer decals that would allow me
to apply and move around as needed without breaking into
a dozen pieces.
i am pleased with the results and this locomotive is ready
for dullcoat (happening this weekend)

Photo for the sake of showing where I am with this and where the
decaling ends

I finished up the BL2 PRR 565 today

1. dull coat yesterday
2. weathering trucks and fuel tanks
3. ran it around the test loop for 10 minutes
4. runs good, as expected, video device on camera did not
5. it passes the 3 ft rule
6. not as good as i planned but then decals were not available for numbering
7. first time: i will probably do this to other shells in the future hoping to get better with each attempt
