Tennessee Pass needs a new home
« on: January 14, 2020, 01:59:14 PM »

I was given part of Bernie Kempinski’s old N Scale layout, the “Tennessee Pass”
The layout[was featured in the 2001 Model Railroad planning book. I was planning to use it in my new layout, but those plans have changed and now I need to find it a new home. The pass features code 55 track on a sweeping S Curve in the mountains of Colorado. The pass is 18 inches wide by 7 feet in length. I am giving this away with the understanding that the taker will pick it up in Hampstead Maryland. Let me know if you are interested before I post to facebook.

*** locomotive is NOT included and is shown for scale only****

Better get that fuel tank checked out.  Supports might be rusting out

I see that, and to think it just came back from being shopped.

I have to say, that is really tempting. Only about two hours away...

Train show in Timonium on the 1st. I could bring it there if that helps.

I am very interested; I have a shelf with just about those dimensions. Only thing I would need to figure out is when I would pick it up; don't think I'll be going to Timmonium unless I'm going to be a vendor, but I haven't had anyone ask me yet.

And you aren't asking anything for it, save coming to pick it up?

No funds, Bernie gave it to me for free, so I want to do the same. I had to drive to Virginia to pick it up so I am asking the same. I want to find a nice home for it.

As long as you don't need a concrete date at the moment to come pick it up, I'll take it.

Can we get a general plan of when you might make it this way?

Next weekend I have a train show, but other than that every weekend within the next month I should be available (assuming you want to get it gone before Timmonium, with Timmonium being a fail-safe). Otherwise, Wednesdays are the only days I don't have class.

It sure looks like Jack's Mountain, to me...  Is that what you had in mind for that?
