I finally started building a piece of railroad. A free-mo-N module based on BC Rail’s Rutherford river crossing. I’m feeling super motivated as for once I’m not just drilling grab iron holes, and things are progressing well. Below is a picture of an abutment that I cast the other day.

I started a build thread as well.

I weathered up some cars for a friend, then I painted fascia and added some static grass fields to the Skally Line.

I ventured into HO for my next project.  i built a model of the Haug, MN store in Roseau, County.  It was originally built in 1915 by my Norwegian immigrant great grandparents and they ran it until 1935 when it was sold.  It burned sometime in the mid 1950s.  I could write a book on the experiences of my family in this building.  It is our foundation in this country.

🙀 noooo, et too Brutus?

Seriously, that’s very nice, great modeling and a poignant reminder of what our country used to be...and where we all came from...

Repainted a Blackstone D&RG class 70 to RGS C-17 #42.  More about how in a thread in the Narrow Gauge forum.

Made another video.

I had an extra Santa Fe "Regal" series 4-4-2 sleeper sitting on my workbench, so I painted it up to go with my Texas Special cars.  They never used 4-4-2 sleepers on this train, but it looks good as a stand in until Lowell releases more sleepers.  I'll probably put it on Ebay eventually since it's not prototypical.

I took a couple of photos of the rest of the train sitting on my module that has built in lighting.  I really need to learn Helicon focus......

Custom built passenger trains are my weakness. Do you have a shot of the prototype you can share? What did you start with as the base model?
