Nice cars, I have a Rock Island caboose and will likely get a CNW red when they come out, they are expensive, but then I'm only planning on purchasing a few.

Also want to commend them on their website, their timeline is a valuable resource.
I’m not here to argue

Their two chosen KCS crummies are pretty close;

Bluford KCS 400/405 - http://nscalesupply.com/Images/BLU/BLU-44080-400.jpg

Proto KCS 400 - http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4137121

Proto KCS 405 - http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2830186

That said . . . the blank Bluford inserted to make their tooling work isn't the smooth side KCS had.  There is also a red porthole variant (http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2280930), a ton of stainless steel, and 20 that were outside braced boxcars in a former life - http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4431053.  Needless to say I have a ton of kitbashing opportunities.

My Southern cab arrived today. I’m really happy with it, especially how it looks behind my FVM Silversides. I was a little iffy at first since the side windows were not completely accurate, but I’m not to concerned now since I’m so pleased. Can’t wait for the the 50’s scheme to come out in the next run! :D

I got my three today. NYC, CR, and D&H. No damaged stacks or anything else.
 Really nice looking Craig.

PC's seem to be gone, out of stock everywhere. I should've ordered the brown NYC version.
Ordered last night from N Scale Supply, but got the dreaded, I'm sorry... e-mail today. :(

Even though I am selling my collection, I ordered a couple. Got mine the other day. Not the ones I ordered, but they are Bluford bay windows!  I ordered D&H and P&LE and got two P&LE with the same road number. Actually understandable as the SKU numbers are almost identical. Anyway, they are sweet and I never thought ai would say it about recent releases, but truly worth the money. I got mine for $28.00. Hard to believe Atlas Trainman stuff sells for $6-8.00 more per unit (e.g. 60' passenger cars) and a single.piece MTL boxcar for, what, $10-12 more?

Now if only Bowser did the N8...

Speaking of Bowser, they DO have the smoke jacks. They're pretty cheap (and a good upgrade for that Atlas plow, too), but $8 of shipping for $2 of parts has prevented me from pulling the trigger myself.

Are they on the site? I couldn't find them. Seeing as I need about 20, maybe I can do a group buy and send the extras out first class.

Actually I was wrong. I was quoted $4.50 for S&H.

If you do it I'm good for at least 4.

Here's a poor shot (cell phone) of one of the NKP models, next to my old Rivarossi (SP prototype) that I painted and lettered with Walthers decals years ago.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

I really liked my recent-release Athearn cabooses but these new Bluford Bay Window units are really well done.

The only thing I will change is the ginormous safety chain at the center of each end rail.

Has anyone put the axle generator part on their caboose?  How did you do it?  If I could get the truck off of the car, I think I would have less trouble, but I can't figure out how to do that.

Use a small flat head screw driver between the frame and the top of the truck. The frame is loosely glued but can be put back if it pops off. BTW the kingpin is the wrong size for the trucks. Standard MTL kingpins work well and will keep the car from wobbling as much.
