Seeing the different size rubber containers / blatters  gave me a thought . Do these blatters have no air in them , maybe nitrogen in its place . Would air degragate the Petrothelene ? Do these blatters somewhat inflate when filled and that's why some are different sizes ? Might each blatter be tapped as needed while the others remain sealed and fresh .

Petrothelene  is basically a type of plastic so I don't think air would degrade it , but it may be shipped this way to avoid dirt/ water ect. contamination .

I can put this on the official winter modeling list.  I just won't say what year...

Just got my October MTL's in the mail and thought them worth sharing with the class. (Z-scale; BNSF from early October, and TTX from the mid-month weathered set)

I'm mad those TTX bulkheads are way too new for me. They look gorgeous.

Always wondered why they couldn't have some applique or separate plastic part weathered like that for realism, especially post photo shop.  And, for MT, who used to charge by the number of paint passes, even old school seemed possible.  These are sold out at a few dealers, and I have a small case of no pre-order lament.  I wish I had some N scale version of FOMO when these were announced.  Ditto with the work trains.

+10!  The printed wooden boards look very realistic.

Yeah, frustratingly that new logo is actually too new for me as well (but just barely) so I'll let it slide for now.   Will probably eventually "backdate" it...or hopefully Micro-Trains will just do another set with the much more common older logo.

I do want to make one comment about the weathered flat decks. (and to re-affirm that my photo is of the Z-scale model....as if anyone was confused but anyway...)   The photo I took here is of "model A" and "model B" has a different weathering pattern and color.  It actually has some weird orange-looking boards inserted which don't really look right to me.  I've sold my "model B" (that was the plan all along to only keep one, but I can't say that the odd look to it didn't cement that decision for me) but I wanted to make that observation/disclaimer.  I'm not sure if the N version has the same odd look or not.  I intend to constructively make this comment to MTL so if you agree you might want to do the same.
