When I saw this challenge idea for something small and simple I knew I had to get in on it. The fact that it is a t-trak module, which I've been thinking about doing for a while, solidified my decision. I also realize that I don't have much space to work in, given a new baby and a small apartment, so I started looking for simple ideas that would work on a single, half-depth module, and came across some pics of a "legal" graffiti wall in Danbury, CT. Its located right along an abandoned double-track railway, perfect for the t-trak standard.

This is the first pic I found. It is a rather long building, relative to the single t-trak spec, so I will be taking liberty and cutting it short at about the third telephone pole from the closest end in the pic.

this is the "view" i'm going for with the foreground.

All in all, I think this will be a fun side project to hold me over until summer. A couple things that this will push me on are definitely getting all of that graffiti looking right, as well as getting the "abandoned and overgrown" look and feel, especially around the tracks, without affecting how trains run. Can't wait to start!

Take digital photographs of the graffiti and create decals.  Perfect reproduction.

In all seriousness, as I don't actually have the capability to make the trip, this is what I was probably gonna do. Just take all the graffiti decals I could find and get it close.

I rely on that concept: Look at something, and concentrate on capturing the essence of it only.  If one of those tags stand out to you, make a decal out of it and use Blair Line laser cut decals for the rest.

Let's not hijack the thread with that old discussion. Some people here like/don't mind graffiti.   MTL has figured that out too.

Last active is May 22, 2019 so maybe the hand painting is still ongoing ?  :?
