These are "our" trains. CN makes a big effort to not accommodate these trains:

Per schedule it's supposed to be 5 hours from CHI to CEN, DS likes to (or has been instructed to) hang 'em up on the approach to Champaign for switching moves. Two hours late on a five-hour run? Almost every day? Really?
Taking #390 (northbound), leaving here at 8:06 a.m., usually on time, risks missing several of the outbound long-distance connections in CHI. When we traveled Amtrak - not so much these days - to not risk the connection we would have to take #59, City of New Orleans, leaving here at
...YAAAAAAAAWWWWWN... 4:20 a.m., only to have to camp out in the Metropolitan Lounge for four or five hours.
