I also imagine that they use some sort of powered drill (maybe a flex-shaft unit?).

That makes me wonder about the wire & drill bit sizes (I don't have one yet to measure).  The smaller they get, the more fragile the bits become (and powered tools have to be used pretty carefully).

I do wish that they put the dimpled shells on the Operator series.   It kind of surprises me that they would have two sets of tooling, i.e. one w/dimples and one w/cast-on parts.

Santa Fe #666. You just gotta love it. Not so happy about their rendition of the ATSF silver. Its just me, I suppose. Their red seems a bit faded too, but thats what weathering is for. These shades will look good next to the BNSFs though I rekon. But I love the fact you can buy the 666.  :D
