On lasercutting

So, it seems that I may have access to a laser cutter.

To that end, does anyone here have any tips on prepping my artwork?  Any gotchas I should know about?

Is it possible to do siding with N scale width boards?
Thanks much,

What type of cutter?  Generic "Import Quality" K40, or something else?

Focus on the laser is pretty key, as is power and speed.

Would recommend playing with CorelDraw and making some tests cuts.
