Briggs Manufacturing Associates (Briggs Models) is investigating producing N scale kits of both the C636/M636 and RS-27 models.

The C636 for US roads will include Hi-Ad side frames, and a M636 for Canadian roads, will include the Dofasco truck conversion. These models will fit to the Atlas C628 or C630 chassis, which will be not included in the kit. Both model kits will include the long hood, short hood, deck, cab, pilots, fuel tank parts, and etched parts for the handrails, grab irons, lift rings, windshield wipers, cut levers, brake wheel, radiator walkway, and numerous other detail parts. Price of this model will be $120 (Canadian).

The ALCO RS27 will be made to fit the Atlas RS11 chassis. It will come with the long hood, short hood, cab, deck, pilots, fuel tank, etched handrails, grab irons, lift rings, windshield wipers, cut levers, radiator screen, and numerous other detail parts. Price of this model will be $110 (Canadian).

This is only an expression of interest/order list. No cash up front from anyone. Once the model has been completed and ready for purchase, I will contact you and it will be put it up for sale on the Briggs Models website. You will be able to order directly from the site by using PayPal, credit card, or by mail if desired.  http://www.briggsmodels.ca/

If we are not able to secure enough interest these kits they will be cancelled and we will move on to other projects, so if you are interested in having this kit produced please email me your contact information and the number of kits you might be interested in. My email address is chrisd@briggsmanufacturingassociates.com

Please feel free to pass this information on to anyone who may be interested or post elsewhere.

Kind regards,
Chris Dittmar

RS-27!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! This means I don't have to draw one up myself; my bucket list has been turning into a 55-gallon-drum list. :|

Sign me up for three, with dynamic brakes. I will be looking for as close to the UP version (original Alco demo units) as agrees with other orders.

ouch Im in for four or more depending on the funds at the time.

American Locomotive Company (demonstrator)  5 Units rd #640-1 to 640-5,  640-1 rebuilt as C424 for Pennsylvania Railroad, 640-2 through 640-5 to Union Pacific Railroad 675–678; 678 wrecked 1969, 675–676 sold 1971 to Montreal Locomotive Works and used as lease fleet on Roberval and Saguenay Railway and British Columbia Railway, sold to Devco Railway 1974, renumbered 214-215, scrapped 1984

Chicago and North Western Railway 4 units  rd#900–903. One sold to Peabody Coal, three sold to Green Bay and Western 316–318; GBW 317 scrapped, 316 and 318 to Minnesota Commercial Railway
Green Bay and Western Railroad  1unit rd# 10

Pennsylvania Railroad  15 units   rd#2400–2414 and then they went to Penn Central and then Conrail

Soo Line Railroad 2 units rd# 415–416

that should account for the 27 models built.  Always wanted a couple of these to model cnw's alco line. :D  now i will have to hunt down several RS 11 mechanisms........... rats.......

I wrote Chris, but also posting it here.  I'd be in for 6-8 M636 kits.  I already bought 7 Dofasco truck kits so would really like to buy kits without trucks but if I can't that won't stop me.

I also need a RS36 but only one so I can hopefully handle that myself.

Hello,

I would be in for 1 or 2 M636's and about 2 C636's. Also a RS27.  I am still working on my C636's I bought from shapeways some time back (7). I am unclear as to how the Hi Ad sideframes will go on a C628/630 truck chassis when the wheel centers are not correct. Is there a truck conversion kit contemplated like that for the Dofasco?

I am also curious about the truck arrangement.
I would like to get several C-636s as well.
Thanks
