NYC 12-1 Pullman

Hey all,

Doing research on our 142, 12-1 in Pullman Green and gold livery.  Can't seem to locate any pictures but have plenty of what they became when sold to Mexico.  Any help would be much appreciated...a photo would be fantastic.  I have a list of cars that they used, but my resources come up nil in the photo category.

Thanks a ton

Gozer the Traveler. He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor!

I tried to send you a PM with a photo scan along with painting and lettering information, but I can't tell if it was transmitted. A review  of my extensive NYC library turned up only one photo of a 12-1. Surprising, as the NYC had 137 of these. The photo can be found on page 278 of "Thoroughbreds" by Alvin Staufer.

No - that is an Erie single window coach.
A 12-1 can be recognized by the distinctive six pairs of double windows at the center of the car.
The letterboard would read "PULLMAN"

My scan of "Churchville" is now in the gallery. Search on "NYC 12-1"

When I looked at the link, it showed an Erie coach in the first picture, and a second picture of a Pullman sleeper.  But, the Pullman is not a 12-1.  It looks like an 8-something.

I overlooked another of my sources - The 20th Century Limited by Karl Zimmerman.
On page 46 is a series of pictures showing the entire consist of a mid-1920s TCL pulled by a K-3 Pacific.
In it there are four 12-1s.

UPDATE-CORRECTION: The caption incorrectly stated these were 12-1 cars.
In reality they are Plan 2411C which are 12-1-1, so these are of no help to the original poster.
Anyway, by 1937 three were converted to Plan 4060 (6-6) and one to a tourist car in 1942.
