Where did you get the black styrene?  Did it come that way or did you paint some 0.060" Evergreen stuff?

@BCR751,

I bought it from a vendor on eBay.  I can get the vendor’s name, if you need it.  Yes, it’s black styrene, which is helpful, in case you scratch the road at some point down the, well, road.  Black peeking through wouldn’t be as glaringly obvious as would white.  I bought 24” x 48” sheets.

Yes, please pass that along.  I doubt I would be able to afford the shipping but it may be worth checking out.  I, too, want to use it for roads.

The seller is sbautomation678 on eBay.  This is not my first purchase from this vendor.  Shipping is hefty, but the sheets of styrene are oversized.  Quick ship and always arrives in good condition.

Hope this helps,

If you have a plastic supplier in your area they may have it in stock.  My last big styrene sheet purchase was years ago, but I got a 4x8 ft sheet of 0.060 white styrene from a small company outside Ashland, KY, off the shelf.  I'm still using that!

If you have any sign makers or display makers in your area you may want to check with them.

@cbroughton67  Forgot they make cut stone as well. It looks good in your photo...how did you handle the corners?

I mentioned the Plastruct cut stone sheets because I've seen it in hobby shops but was not sure if scaled correctly for N Scale. Tempted to order some of the Slaters to see what it looks like (always on the lookout for good scratch building or kit bashing wall material sources)

@160pennsy The Plastruct N-scale cut stone sheets are actually 1:200 scale and look too small to my eye. For the corners, I just use a jewelers file to "wrap" the mortar lines around the ends. Once it's painted, the joints basically disappear.

1:1 cut stone comes in so many sizes that I can't imagine 1:200 looking "too small." But, that's just me...

That said, the Plastruct material looks more like marshmallow blocks than stone... too "melted" looking. Perhaps at 3' it might work better, or maybe with some mortar effect applied.

Again, IMO. YMMV.
