I invested in a lot of Vallejo when getting back into modeling because of the convenience of the dropper bottles. However I'm not really a fan as the adhesion...

Amen, brother.  I love Vallejo for brush painting, but never over bare plastic.

Also, calling all water-based paints "acrylic" is a peeve of mine. There are plenty of solvent-based paints out there, based on acrylic resin.  But for some reason hobbyists seem to have adopted that incorrect terminology.

When the manufacture calls it an acrylic, who is to argue.

acrylicosvallejo.com is their website. Every bottle says vallejo acrylic paint.

I haven't seen a water based paint aimed at modelers that is not an acrylic. Right or wrong it is the accepted terminology.

So what does acrylic mean? Has plastic in it?
https://www.liquitex.com/us/knowledge/what-is-acrylic-paint/

If you have some time to spend reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paint will teach you more about paints than you ever wanted to know (but worth reading). Acrylic is the paint's binder.  Yes, acrylic is a type of polymer.  See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acrylic_paint

Just got home from the LHS, first visit in about 3 months, purchased some Model Master acrylics, while checking out I said to the cashier “I hear these are discontinued”, to which he responded “only the enamels, the acrylics will continue to be manufactured”.

Good news to my ears, as Model Master acrylics are my go to paint.
I’m not here to argue

Does anyone know a reasonably close substitute for the MM flat enamel “dark tan” spray paint? I think p/n 1942

If that is the case, Model Master ought to get that info out to modelers.  Your LHS owner/employee may be a good source, but that info does run contrary to the official Testors announcement published on Kalmbach's site.

Over half of the Model Master Acrylics are already discontinued. The acrylic color list is down to 41 colors from over 70. It's just a matter of time, that is the way the enamels and laquers started fading before eventual death.

Addition to my last post....just tried to refill our Model Master acrylic rack at the shop today. Out of 124 colors originally available in the rack, Testors has cut it down to 39.

Now might be a good time to turn you ALL onto Tamiya's excellent plastic cement.

https://www.amazon.com/Tamiya-87038-Extra-Thin-Cement/dp/B000BMYWYC

@chicken45 turned me onto it and it's a game changer.

Got some of this last week. Used it today - excellent! No more Tenax for me.  :D
