I recently got the n scale alp-45 by atlas. Not only does it run very slowly, but After running it for a few minutes, the sound cuts off and all controls no longer work, but the locomotive continues to run. if I take it off the track and put it back on again, I cannot control it again for another few min. And during that time, it cant even be read on the programming track! I have never seen anything like this before.

I know that the issue with its top speed is with the entire run, but I dont know if the sudden loss of control is a common problem or not.

Well, not only do my other locomotives function correctly, but it did the same thing on another layout

How many threads do you need here? The slow-speed "out of the box" issue has been covered, whereas your stalling issue doesn't seem to be a common problem. Have you contacted Atlas or are you just determined to launch a smear campaign?

It's definitely not a whole run of lemons. I've got two from trainworld and they both run fine on a digitrax dcs51, albeit slowly at first.

Well of course I am!

Kidding aside, I wanted to better explain my issue In a fresh thread, but I probably could have continued the other one. I emailed modeltrainstuff, and they offered to accept a return for a full refund. I have yet to contact atlas, but I probably will in the coming days
