It's unfortunate it's all in Japanese.  I know Kato USA has PDF translations but take a look at one and you'll hurt your neck going from PDF to book to PDF to...

It is worth to get, just for the photos and for the DVD.  I don't think Kato meant it to be sold outside Japan .

The funny part Pete, it has some English text in the book. Yes the majority of the text is in Japanese, but the thing that catches my eye, why would a book being sold in Japan also contain English text?

Sample pages from the book with some English Text:

It would be nice if Kato USA did a reprint of the book with all English text.

Japanese love to use English language.  Often very poorly. Have you ever been to  http://www.engrish.com/ ?
Sure, it would be nice if that booklet was also printed in English.  But like I said, I think that this book was produced for the Japanese market.

And I just realized that I was talking about something different:  A 50th Anniversary release of Kato's C50 locomotive. It includes a nice booklet and a DVD.  It is also in Japanese, with some English sprinkled in.

I bought mine from a hobby shop in Japan. But the link above shows that if you buy it from Kato USA, they will throw in that other book for "free".

They just added the price as at the time of creating this thread it didn't have a price.

Hmmm, might have to order a copy!
