CRRNJ, neglected road?

 Aside from Rich Yourstone, I don't see anyone modeling the CNJ too often. I like a lot of the old, colorful Northeastern RR's.
  And a lot will show up on soon to be started new layout.
  I have some plans for CNJ switchers to paint up. Atlas has released a few loco in CNJ paint, did any other mfr's. do the same?

I recall the CNJ being a popular-ish road with HO'ers a few decades back. Or at least for a small regional it got a disproportionate amount of press... many MR articles about their camelbacks.

Well, I asked Intermountain to do Reading F3/F7's and they announced them but never could get enough pre-orders.  I don't quite understand because they get enough for Reading FT's.  You would think the same people would want F3/F7's.  I asked for CNJ F's as well but they never announced those.  I have given up on them.

If you're familiar with the Layout Design SIG, the 2nd Quarter 2018 issue of their Layout Design Journal had an article by Jonathan Jones, who is building an N scale CNJ switching layout based on the Newark Branch.  Jonathan is an architect, and is bringing some of the types of concepts an architect might employ into his modeling, to great effect.  Such as only modeling specific buildings in detail, and leaving others as gray or white, thus highlighting the buildings that are important.  He has also handlaid all of his switches (including a couple of double slips).  The issue can be bought and downloaded here:

Growing up on the Jersey Shore, I have a soft spot for the CNJ.

I wish I bought the CNJ RDC's when they were getting blown out...

I would love to see some tangerine and blue F3's.
One of my favorite MR photos was Vic Roseman's tangerine and blue CNJ F3's.
I think this an issue was from the late 70's/early 80's.

I don't recall seeing the IM CNJ green striped units.
I do have at least 1 Atlas CNJ FM Trainmaster locos.
I wish the Life-Like CNJ NE caboose was not so crude.

Sometime in the '70's, my best friend Dave and I went railfanning to Elizabeth, on the NE corridor. We went down to the CNJ station, with that beautiful tower. Caught an RDC set to E'port and back. We were the only riders. Conductor was very friendly to us two teens with cameras.
