Traincat brass items

i was wondering if there was a way of getting a few items from Traincat? looking for the woodchip loader and a few other things

I think one of the earliest lessons I learned in modeling N scale was, if you see something that looks interesting and you think you might use it someday, buy it immediately -- because like in Oz, products come and go so quickly here. So whether you use it, or if you don't you'll usually find somebody to buy it if no longer made, you can't lose.
Then I came to realize that lesson applies to ALL scales.
Traincat returning to operation is very iffy.

I'm in the same boat my friend.  I'm finally in the position where I'd like to buy a few Auto Carriers, a Wilson auto ramp and a few other kits he had. 
I do understand the circumstances though and know we have to do what makes us happy.
I just wish there were some way he would revive his line of products though.  He had some awesome stuff that would look great on my layout.

The last person I saw that had any actual 'stock' of TrainCat stuff was at the Altoona N Scale weekend show, I'm pretty sure it was TexN Rails.

It's been a while though.    I ended up searching for over a year for one of the NYC transfer caboose kits and finally made a deal with another forum member that had an unassembled kit.   

Sometimes they will show up on the auction sites, sometimes on the forum trades, put a notice in the 'Wanted to Buy' sections and hope for the best.   But I will say that the search and wait is worth it, few people have equaled the quality and skill that went into those designs.

At the Cleveland NTS he was there with bins full of his kits so if you can get a hold of him he probably still has them.

My question would be how do you get hold of Bob? I tried some time ago through his site and, IIRC, through TRW, and got no response. I'm not going to keep pestering him, though.

He visited here, just last October. Don't you remember?  He is still not ready to think about restarting the business, and has a new hobby.

I certainly respect all he has been through, so i don't mean any disrespect here.

I sincerely wish he would fulfill orders that have already been paid and never delivered.  He could at least start there if he has stock.  Seems like forever, I can't even go back far enough in my PayPal account to view the transaction anymore.

So you paid him and he never delivered or refunded?

FYI- Just checked with Brad @ TexNrails and he is out of any Train Cat items.  Bummer  
I hope that those prior orders get resolved for you guys as well. 
I guess it's time to try my hand at brass etching.  I learned to mold and cast resin items I needed in the past when a similar situation occurred with a different product so maybe that'll be the lemonade from lemons story for me.  That's one nice thing about our hobby, lots of ways to expand!!

Depending on how many parts you need on a sheet, PPD Limited is an outstanding supplier.  Just be sure to follow their design requirements and use as much space on the 150x300mm sheet as you can to maximize value.  Sell off what you don't need for yourself and it sometimes can be a wash.  I draw to fill that space (minus a 10mm border).
