OK now I can see what I did 

Looks like I ground down both the body and the frame. I'd bet I had everything stripped down to just the metal bits for this.


Up front where the boiler "hooks" onto the frame I built that area up with styrene since it was made to grab 16 scale inches higher.
And it looks like that rear plastic holder for the motor was needed so I notched the body inside the cab for it:

Also you can see I notched the air tank to clear the valve gear. And I think one row of the cooling pipes where removed.

Yep. And that's the annoying thing. I can live with them there. I can live with them NOT there. But what gets me is that in removing them the one damaged the part of the tender I NEED. Hopefully not beyond repair though.

Yeah in HO scale they did a low and high drivered version of the 4-6-0. In N it looks like they did the high boiler with the low drivers. Then again what about that tender they slapped on it..

They didn't want to spend money on tooling a brand new tender. The roundy-round modelers don't notice stuff like that (that the tender is larger than the loco).
