Supposedly it has a better UV light under it too.

The Photon S is now available via overseas shipping from China.  Supposedly US warehouse stock is also en-route.

And they come in black too!

Finally, Anycubic has announced they are in final testing of an anti-aliasing firmware upgrade for both Photon and Photon-S!

I should have got one of those but ordered a third Photon as I've had no problems with the two I have so far.

Some of you may have already seen it, but there's a review out there today.  I wouldn't say it's an entirely helpful review given the inexperience of the user but it does show one of the things I was concerned about, the plastic case.  It appears to be way more flimsy than I thought it would be.

I think once you see the lid motion you can stop watching as the rest of the information is repetitive.  He does show the differences in touch-screen interface which does not appear to be that significant.  And the Z travel appears to be much faster.  Overall though the dude was very disappointed in what he got.  Here's a re-written follow up apparently done after the video where he's just fed up with it: https://old.reddit.com/r/AnycubicPhoton/comments/b4ue1d/new_anycubic_photon_s_bad_review/ej9smv4/

It would be prudent to wait for other, more thorough reviews to come in but based on construction alone I'm happy I opted for getting the original as my 2nd Photon.

Just curious if anyone has heard new rumors or updates regarding development of the 4k LCD? Been on the fence about purchasing my own Photon, particularly if this improvement is still on the table. I see the Photon S is no longer available at Amazon, but it remains available directly from Anycubic (in white only).
Because why not...

Think the PhotonS wouldn't be much help for model railroaders. We tend to make nice square things.

Not quite sure I follow. Is the print quality inferior on the Photon S, despite the improvements?

I wouldn't even think of a new machine till they up the resolution. The software that comes with the S is available for the regular Photon now. The S has dual rails, but I haven't had a problem with my single rail.

And for $130 shipped you can get a dual rail set up for the regular. Is only really noticeable if you are getting Z wobble on large flat areas, such as walls.

Not having any problems and being quite busy with trips and doctors (nothing to worry about, mostly for others) I haven't been following any of this.  Is there any advantage to Photon S software that I should be checking out when I get back to it?

Anti aliasing software that can make pixels grey instead of black/white. Mosty for round objects and really only works on the sides not the top.
