The PS-1's are recycled MDC tooling, right? No matter, I might pick up a PC or two to expand my "PC tribute" collection. And the WP cars are good for my region and era.

It's nice they're trying to identify the applicable eras for the various schemes, but a nit-pick - they claim "1960+" and other early '60s dates on several cars, but certainly not as shown with ACI barcodes, which would nail them as >1968.

So that Texas and Pacific boxcar, it has TP reporting marks, but above it is a shield logo. Wasn’t the T&P logo a diamond? But more importantly why are MP and N&W logos also on the car? I know the T&P was a MP subsidiary, but what about Norfolk Western? Why are all those logos on the car?

Nice to see these, I could use one of each of the PS1s. I'm hoping to see more autoracks from them too.

I noticed this too Mike. My cut off date is 1967 so I hope it's possible to scrape those pesky ACI labels off!!

And a new book has just been published about the history of the American Refrigerator Transit.

Yeah, can't tell whether that's a printing error or that's really how these "Primed For Grime" containers will look like. If it's the latter, it's kind of unfortunate because intermodal containers have shorter service lives than railroad rolling stock, and though they are exposed to the elements (like sea air), they are hardly faded like that in real life. Container companies are real consistent about repainting (which is why you'll rarely see a graffiti-covered container), or will just take them out of commission (they go into the used market as storage units and adaptive reuse like modular housing) and replace them with newer containers.

Well those China Shipping and CMACGM container schemes are going to pummel my wallet in a manner I thought only sound locos could do these days.

They are non-logo-panel containers, which puts them around mid 90s and later.  The schemes are focused around the 2000-2010 era.  Which is to say they are bit more last decade than this decade, which I appreciate for filling a gap between JTC and old Deluxe stuff. 

I think the appearance is just bad PDF rendering of the corrugations.  They'll look like new paint.  Athearn put's that primed for grime language on all their flyers I think. 

Really curious how compatible they'll be with other container products.  <rolls eyes>

Agreed, the best PS-1 50' tooling.

Though I recall that the single sliding door version is the original MDC tooling, and the other door variants were introduced after Athearn acquired the tooling.  It's possible that MDC did tool the variants but never released them.

Bryan, I have multiple MDC releases in at least plug door and single door - will have to check to see if I have double door as well.

Regarding the container image, make it larger and it will come into focus. I don't believe they are primed for grime, there is just so may vertical lines it interferes with the image.

I am excited for these, hoping they do most everything they did in HO in N scale as far as thier intermodal line.
