Subforum for non-Railroad modeling?
« on: December 11, 2018, 04:03:51 PM »
Hello TRW, while working on a non rail related modeling venture, I wondered what if I could post a build thread documenting the project and asking for other members input or feedback as if it were a rail related topic. I also thought it would be interesting to see other members efforts in other areas of modeling be it automotive, ship, plane, military or what have you. I thought that while I find great info on other topic specific forums, I don’t always want to sign up and wondered if this sort of sub forum would be a good addition to TRW? I imagine many of our members partake in other areas of modeling, and could be a very interesting sub forum.

Since there was no response I’ll ask; would posting an auto build diary be frowned upon in HO and larger scales? Was lookin for advice and the idea came tangentially.

I'm actually not a fan, but that's just my own personal opinion, not an "official moderator" position.

Some members post their non-model-RR-related efforts in the Crew Lounge.

This would be my recommendation. I don't think you'll find much interest in creating a non-MRR-related subforum.

At the glacially-paced rate that my layout construction is going, it's easy to assume that I have retired from the hobby.

Just do your own thread drift in your layout engineering report   :D

I agree with the Crew Lounge recommendation, and I think it would give you the biggest audience.  Here is a good example.  Go for it.

I agree with the Crew Lounge option for now.  If there is enough interest (like what I saw with 3D printing), we can revisit.
