I dug up an old war horse -- my Arnold Rapido S-2. I had painted her back in 1992. I added a decoder this morning. Man - what a PITA!!

Now that thsi one is done -- I have another one that I will be working on. Stripping the paint and of course a new paint job.

Thanks,
Wolf

Caleb great shot. What camera and settings are you using? - We see most of them. I have a 2012 Cannon Rebel T3I. I am trying
different settings. Also which lens are you using? Also downloaded Helicon Focus 7 - Learning curve here. Some new shots with
settings I have been working on.

Wolf, you do such nice work! They actually are pretty nice models, especially considering their age. Did you replace the wheelsets?
I sold mine when the new Atlas S-2's undecs came out, but I have yet to paint them. Here's my Arnold, before the sale...

Not my S2 above, but I do have an Arnold S2 and I purchased NWSL wheels for mine.. Saves turning them down. Now is a loco terminal princess and does not do anything as the new Atlas S4 is sooo much better.

Ran the first train completely around the room tonight.  It takes about 5 minutes to get to the same starting point.  The lift-out section works like a charm, including triggering a dead section on each approach when it's lifted out of place.  I have a lot of cleaning up to do, but when that's done I'll do a video update of the whole layout including a demonstration of the lift-out bridge.

Some great peeps here on The RW.

Thanks to @chicken45 and @Mark W for teaming up and sending me an early Chirstmas present fresh off the Anycubic thread!

Mark contributed the 3768 tender shell he test printed, and Josh had him also send the Santa and Sleigh to pair up with my Polar Express!

Here Santa is looking for a passel of coal for @peteski to keep his workshop warm.

All in all it is a very kind an thoughtful gesture by both folks. sincerest gratitude!

I will write up a review of the tender shell in the 3D Printing page.

[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Started off today working on the United North West N scale layout, doing some track gluing and ballasting.

Also had a chance to get a photo of the steamship I work on:

I rather wish I'd had my nice camera with me.

Inspired by Randgust and his doodlebug repowering thread, I nearly finished my 24000 series MStL outside braced boxcar. It will be used to carry Express behind a converted troop sleeper baggage car and Doodlebug. Because the ends will be very visible in this function, I wanted to include uncoupling levers and some of the finer end details. Yet to be installed are MT True Scale couplers (and paint/decals). It started as a ConCor (Kato) old time boxcar with new ends, roof and a modified MT underframe. I had to cut the underframe, splice a section in and remove a couple of feet off the ends in order to move the wheel base out a few feet. I might also add end marker lights because in all the pics I have seen of this train, extra boxcars were always behind the baggage car, carrying the markers. The doodlebug is next!

Yeah -- they do run very well -- once you get the goofy spring straight.

I did replace the wheelsets - with NWSL. Makes a huge difference in appearance. I also filled in the pilots. Body mounts also make a huge difference in appearance.

Zebra's -- classic. That was/is one good looking switcher.
