I had no idea!  THANKS!

So... how do I get one of these calendars?  I am an NMRA member, but I have not received a calendar.  Should I have gotten one in the mail automatically?

Hi Max:
I think you should receive one automatically. I always have. Mine just arrived last Thursday, so it could be in the mail to you now. If not, I would call the NMRA and ask.

Cheers,
Bill

Can someone who knows what engine y'all are talking about post a picture of it? Not everyone on here is up on all the backstories.

At this point he's earned a two-word moniker, well on the way to one...."Max's Engine", sort of like "Cher's dress".

There was supposedly a quote from Rod Stewart saying he was more proud of the cover on Model Railroader than any of his Rolling Stone covers, as it was a lot harder to get.    I think that applies here as well, on hitting the NMRA calendar.

I just want to say "thank you" for the wonderfully flattering comments in here.   THANK YOU.

As for Rod Stewart, I saw him make that statement on a late night TV show (I am pretty sure it was with Jimmy Kimmel hosting).  Kimmel brought out the magazine (MR) and the audience were gently laughing about it, when Stewart said, "Look, they're laughing!  I don't care.  I'm more proud of that than a cover of Rolling Stone!"  I've wanted to rewatch that interview many times, but it's not hanging around free on the internet anywhere.

UPDATE:
He doesn't say anything about Rolling Stone, but he does carp at the audience about them laughing at him.

I FOUND IT!
