I was hoping that the trucks were close enough to the Atlas commuter cars to be used, but they are not. The Atlas cars are similar, but more angular:

Notice the slight taper of the underslung body.

Let's take a look at some details of the cars:

The blind ends show a slight taper inwards towards the roof:

Also note that one end has a small window in place of the two regular sized windows.

Lots of very shallow tapers. Sides above the purple stripe. Ends taper back from the vestibule end doors. And the taper along the belly pan:

The roof is curved and consists of 5 parts: end angle sheets, AC equipment and a central arched roof with fluting. The fluting is raised - 1" wide and 4" between flutes.

The AC units have a grate over the entire unit. Evaporators are on each side with two 24" exhaust fans in the middle.

The second order of these cars was virtually identical with the only difference being the gates between cars:

The interior is almost a total opposite of the of the Atlas car:

Both decks have stationary seats that aim to the center of the car. The center chairs facing each other feature a small table.

The side vents on the AC units was lowered. AC units now featured an exterior air intake duct on the ends. The drip rails were removed from over the doors, but a riveted panel was added to aid electrical inspections. Also note the small side window has been deleted.

I'm interested in the earlier orders (but can certainly back-date any mode that comes out of this project).

Let's look at the cab control cars:

These cars are almost identical to the regular coaches with a few detail differences

The two end windows were added and share the same sized windows as the side and end doors.

The cab area uses a larger sliding window on the door. This is rectangular with sharp edges unlike the other windows. Bell is mounted on the engineer's side, Nathan 3 chime horn on the conductor's. Note the small window along the side has been removed. The forward window on the bottom level has been replaced with a vented hatch. Class lights are sunken into the body.

Hmmm . . . I know someone who used to work for MBTA in a senior position.  He used to get us into MBTA facilities during the annual RailRun events.  One such field trip was a visit to a then-brand-new Kawasaki car spotted for us at the South Station. That was before they were put in service.  He is retired now, but I wonder if he could get us a set of dimensional drawings.  I'll ask.

 I need to back and do some rework to what I have. I was trying to make it as simple as possible, but with the pics you gave, I'll be reworking what I have to get the slight tapers at the top and bottoms. I'm working on the head end of the car now. I want to do a test print as soon as I get the both ends done to see if this is even going to work.

One of the problems with SLA printing is the difficulty in getting long parts that don't bow or curl up on the ends during printing.  I found the only way, at least on the Form Labs machines is to print as close to horizontal as possible and then be prepared to trim off the ends of it.    I did an HO Santa Fe Hopper and it looked good coming out of the tank but as it post cured it went banana on me.  I finally decided doing whole cars may not be an option.  I recently did a batch of HO UP Cattle Cars for a friend and did the sides as flats, did a quick post cure and right into a mold before it had a chance to go wonky on me.  That seems the best option.
