You are right the Mogul is 1/80 scale, just  measured the drivers.

Model Railroader had a whole article in the 1960's with pictures of the prototype with Japanese guys.

They were extolling the mogul as 1/64. With a claim that is what the Japanese were using.

My apologies for my stupidity of doubting you and actually believing anything that MR publishes.

I have a Kidder 2-6-0 that I was going to try and convert to HOn30, but the they was so large I didn't think it would work. Do you plan to convert yours?

No no, you are fine. I was actually just trying to see if I was incorrect. Would have been brand new information to me if it actually was S scale, and would have caused me to no longer be interested in one in the future. Wouldn't have any use for one in that scale. I look forward to your progress, as I have been reading your threads with interest (it's rather unconventional compared to many of the other work done here, and definitely nothing I would have attempted. Just saw so many people debating it I thought I would throw in my two cents.

The Kidder Porter looked familiar, looked like a Bradford, Bordell and Kinzua Mogul.

Found the plan and scaled it to 1/80 and we have a match.



Never checked, always followed the myth and thought it was that B,B&K mogul in 1/64.

A minor correction on scales and ratios:  1:120 is TT scale.  T scale is much smaller than Z, somewhere around 1:400, but offhand I'm not sure of the exact ratio.

Whoops, you are right. I always forget that. Looks like all of us are a little confused. Thank you for the reminder, though.

Also, HO scale on TT gauge track (12mm gauge) is done in Australia as HOn3.5 (mainly Queensland) and in Europe as HOm.
