Also finished a M577A3 Medical, M983A4 and M984A4 Wrecker, the M984A1 Wrecker is an older one.

With well-laid tracks, this is not a problem.

question for all,   would not the blade on the m1043 jab be down on the flat car during shipping.    The model has it suspended in air.    if the hydraulics let go it would cause some damage during shipping.   I do not know and just trying to get a better understanding of how the military shipped these things.

the document  "EA PAM 55-19"  is a good guide for for the tie downs on most of the equipment folks model.

The bottom image in this post (https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=45583.msg835642#msg835642) has on the left the M1074 JAB, shown in with the deployment mechanism in transport configuration. If the blade were down, as in this image:



setting aside the fact that the blade sits right where the tiedowns normally go on the railcar deck, I'd be worried about it becoming a dimensional load based on how far the mast sits above the deck.

On the right is the M104 Wolverine. Total production of this model is around 20% of the M1074 production, and photos of the M104 on flatcars aren't common... of the two I have, only one is of the quality to show blade position and in that one it's raised, as MTL models. The most recent edition of 55-19 (an amended rev 7 or later) may have updated information on the M104, and perhaps the M1074 which is newer than 55-19 rev 7.
