Hello Railwire,
Hello Railwire. I have finished the development on my SDL39 kit. This model comes with 3d printed parts for body, fuel tank, and details, as well as etched parts for handrails and finer parts. Wire, a large weight, window glass template and material, and an instruction article with step by step photos will be available for download. The model is available in my website store and will start shipping next week.
Thank you for looking. I am available to answer any questions anyone might have.

The chassis is 3d printed, which the Atlas C628/C630 mechanism parts, including trucks, clip into. The Atlas trucks are only about .02" off the SDL39 truck wheelbase, and I fudfed the side frames a bit to fit, after clipping the original ones off. Universal couplings are included, and there is a large weight that fits on top, it brings the weight up nicely. The model runs like an Atlas C630. I hope that helps.

That chassis (weight) looks like tungsten! Wouldn't it be cool if it really was?

Out of my era but a must have. Saving my pennies for at least one.
Mr. Denton, I am looking forward to seeing your results.

I had an opportunity to see and hold the finished model yesterday. It is the first finished locomotive I have seen assembled from a 3D printed kit and the results were amazing. I was also impressed with the flexible wire arrangement for the pick-ups from the trucks, which still rotated quite freely. I am looking forward to seeing one completed in full Milwaukee Road livery from one of our RW members!
