I was gonna sit these out but now I'll keep my eyes peeled for a good deal.
I received two Conrail Bowser N5C cabooses from eBay today. I have several from the origonal run and wanted to see how they have improved over the years.First the good: The paint is much improved. The first run didn't have enough paint on the ends. The ends on these is well covered and includes end numbers and "POOL CAR" written on the door. They did not include the Scotchlite panels on each side of the door. They also made the cupola sides blue. I have seen photos with both all black cupolas and ones with blue sides. I think it depends on when and where the prototype was last shopped. #23123 appears to be correct, but I could not find photos of #23139.
What? When did Ed move to HO?? I never got the memo!!
I thought that you graduated to larger scales Ed? What happened? Still pining for the small stuff?
I always felt the Bowser N5 and variants were too tall in the body. They look too stubby to me, even when lowered to a more appealing ride height.
I thought so too until I saw an image that compared them and they were actually correct. It was weird.
Yeah, I looked for that image on the other thread and the attachment is gone man. Must have been the recent crash, although that thread is over a year old. Was going to post it here. Maybe I'll redo it.
