Consider this hypothetical situation:

12:00am: Backup is made
12:01-12:15am: Peteski posts 10 times
12:16am: Software/Hardware issue forces a restore from last backup
12:17am: Forum is running with 12:00am backup; Peteski posts are gone

Yet, I haven't seen a post from our resident curmudgeon since the forum flipped. Are we sure he wasn't just a bot? :)

He's probably posting 40 times a day to that audio forum :tommann: 8) :D

I didn't miss a bit - I don't know what outage you guys are talking about?  Maybe it is a fake news, or you guys temporarily shifted to some alternate universe?  :|

I am honored to have been called the "resident curmudgeon".  That is going into my signature.  :D 8)

When a forum decides a different host and software is desirable and you lose two years of extensive captions on hundreds of images, then you have a problem. I think Peteski would forgive ten posts in fifteen minutes, but maynot so much one post that took him a long time to compose. I've learned to write anything I value off-line, then copy it in. Of course, I later look through the posts and wonder why I saved them, and delete them.

Pete:  That's what I do, not only with important posts, but with most of my emails.  It's not only nice to have backups, but having to copy-and-paste gives me a chance to reread what I've written, which has saved a few embarrassments.

Too bad Botski isn't a The The Railwire Platinum Plaid member.
Site didn't go down for us!

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."
