MTL 68' flat question

The MTL tank transport flats come in both two and three axle truck versions. Is the two axle version close to anything else? Phone pole flats etc.

Also, anyone know if this has any common parts with the 68' bulkhead or center beam flats?

I can answer the second question. All new tooling including the trucks and coupler pockets. The only existing parts are the wheels and couplers.

The DODX flats that MTL is putting out with a single M1 tank are on 89ft flats.  Or at least the red set should be 89ft cars.  Looking at the MTL page, it mentions the red set is also 68ft cars.

The single tank version is the lighter weight version (two wheeled trucks).  Usually carrying wheeled vehicles, light armored vehicles and containers.  It is also 68' long like the heavy weight cousin.  They also have a large number of 89' flats I hope we get to model as well.  Those were fitted for light wheeled vehicles and containers.

I've seen a few of the 68's patched and carrying pipe.  I'll see if I can find those shots again.

With a centered bolster, I am guessing the 2 and 3 axle trucks share an under frame. This would mean that they would not use any low bolster trucks like BLMA's.

Good picture. See the space which is cut out the under frame for the wheel flanges, there is none for a 2 axle truck.

That was the initial frame for checking stuff, the production frame has the cut outs for the 4 wheel truck as well.  Both trucks are new.

They would have to be centered if they are swap-able on the frame as the 3 axle truck in the picture above.

  I have some old deluxe cars that had the 3 axle trucks.  Does anyone know if these made by MT?
