Scale Trains Tier 4 Gevo

I make it a policy not to speak ill of another company's product...bad form and all...but I just got my hands on a Scale Trains Tier 4 and I'm happy to say I don't have to worry about breaking my policy.  This engine is freaking awesome in just about every way.  It almost makes me want to abandon my beloved PE and move into the boring world of modern railroading  :D  kidding.   This thing is amazing, I'm still finding detail and separate parts days later...look under the deck...piping!  I know what things cost, here in and in China and Scale Trains must have won a lottery and are using the proceeds to cover the real cost to make these.  Bravo.  The standard for N scale has been set.  This GEVO may never make it on my layout but I plan on showing everyone I meet what this thing looks like.  Again, Bravo.

Sounds great, but like you I "don't do" modern. I have their 8500GTEL turbine and it, too, is a modeling marvel, especially given the price point.

Here's a question that hits really close to home, Joe - have you tried to fit TSC to it? On their other models they accommodate retrofit of 1015 draft gear in their box. TSC, not so much. I threw my hands up with the turbines for the time being, and their new carbon black cars are doable, but with much effort.

I've been working with the engine but haven't fit the TSC yet.  I know the 1015 or even the 1023 will not fit in the pilot without a lot of cutting and filing.  The draft gear box is almost .020 wider than the 1015.  Color me sad.  It looks like in order to make our coupler work you would have to cut off the retainer walls either side of the draft gear pad and file the pilot some to fit everything.  We had the same issue with Arnold and some Bachmann loco's.  Given all the fine detail I need to summon up some super powers and stiffen my spine before I take this beauty apart.  :)

Yep. To make my other Conrail power look inadequate.

I'm mad though, there's one GLARING issue with their HO versions that will likely be replicated in N scale.

They don't shoot fireballs out their stacks.

Man, I remember seeing that from by 4th grade window. Even my teacher, who HATES that i turned my head every time a train passed, told the class to look.
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away
