Erie?  Someday?  Not Erie Lackawanna, just Erie. :)
Budget permitting, I will be in for one of those if and when they happen, so they can count on selling at least 2. In the meanwhile, I have an old Atlas shell I can paint up as a placeholder. Bluford gets my entire hopper budget nowadays, so with one in the mail and 6 on order, I don't think they are missing much income-wise as far as my railroad is concerned.

KCS cabeese of that era were stainless steel and had porthole windows. This isn’t that hard.

Nice!!!

Those PC cars are signature cars. I'll definitely need one to go along with my fleet of Bowser PRR cabins.

And it turns out there were 7 white square window cabeese. Looks like I have to buy some then.

The fallen flags websit has pics of two KCS caboose like the ones Bluford has up. Also, are you sure you aren't thinking of the old boxcars KCS converted to the caboose as far as the portholes go?

If Bluford could tool up those odd Rockwell trucks that KCS used and painted the caboose a stainless color, it would be pretty close I think.

As noted up thread KCS did indeed have white bay window cabeese #400-406.  The Stainless Steel's run 323-358 by number.  Some have portholes and others didn't.

Phillip, that's what I get for not checking if there are new posts made after I started writing mine.

Those stainless KCS cars were iconic for sure, but the big hangup is those odd trucks.

Peoria and Eastern.

Never have I seen a photograph of a P&E bay window caboose.  When did P&E get theirs?  Did they have the small bay window of the earlier lots or the full of the later?  Were they in Oxide Red, Caboose Red or Jade Green?  (I have found P&LE in caboose red, but none for NYC or any other subsidiary).  Did they have the comet herald and QUICKER VIA PEORIA on them?

I have seen photographs of wood cabooses with the NYCS herald, P&E reporting marks and car numbers and the QUICKER VIA PEORIA comet herald.  All of them were Oxide Red.

We've had a late change to one car in the run. The road number for 42071 original Norfolk Southern red #387 has been changed to #383. The change brings the run closer to prototype and deconflicts it with an earlier MTL run even though though their 387 was in a different paint scheme version.

Thanks,

Craig

Crud, I was about to kitbash one out of a Walthers Conrail Caboose, but I'll just save the tiny bay windows to make a Nickel Plate rider car. Looking forward to seeing these at my LHS.
