That's looks pretty good, I wish Athearn would do more locomotives in N, like some early EMD's

Some impressions:

Overall - really nice
Got wrong:   NS plow,  3 chime instead of 5
Got right:  ICE box, trucks

Debatable:  SD70 Decal on cab was not part of original paint.   My NS project is 1995/6, but I'll ignore this.

Is there a gap between the cab and the front handrail?

Thanks for the pix!

I want to say they are that way because they were the last of the Spartan cabs and they were also isolated... But I could be wrong...

N Scale Supply is showing them in stock at $97.48.  Should be just under that when they get posted at Kleins.  I'm still trying to determine if I want to pick up the Conrail versions.

I'll check!

Very smooth, quiet - like Atlas/slow motor or FVM

Thanks for the report @ljudice !  I've had a bad expieriance in the past with Athearn, but looks like I'll be giving them another shot with their recent offerings.

The only problem I see is that it's black instead of blue... haha.

Well, that and the horn which looks kinda meh, but those are easy fixes.

Good on Athearn!
