This week for me was a Tuesday visit from Jason, Dan, and Jordan from Rapido Trains with the CN and Amtrak versions of the Turbo train.  It looked good, sounded good, and ran well.  There are a few issues still to be addressed but it was interesting listening to the discussion and appreciating the effort these guys are putting into trying to get it right.

I posted a few more pics in my layout thread

I am eagerly waiting for this train. I have an early Amtrak preordered. Glad to see they are making progress.

While watching the Caps get their a$$ handed to them by the Flyers, I installed some Trainworx grabs on my WW units, well one of them anyway.  Damn are these things tiny.  And I didn't know you had to fold up the edges to get the drop in the grab until I got them.  Fun fun stuff.  Also have to fix rear numberboard, tape pulled it off when I removed the drill jig.

@peteski  You should get a kick out of the detailed interior on this kit bashed 1950's corner drugstore. It's one of the prominent foreground structures on my Johnstown, PA T-TRAK module set. The inspiration came from the instruction sheet included w/Bar Mills Models "The 1 Kit". I've been slowly adding parts like the interior shelves, counters, soda fountain bar and roof made from JTT shingle sheet material. Next up are the bar stools, soda jerk, kids w/parents, signs, railings for the flat roof, etc, etc...it never ends!!

Excellent job Paul - I love it!

Wood rails at section car sheds weren't uncommon.  The cars were light enough that metal rails would be overkill, not to mention more work cutting them to length.  I will admit that most I've seen looked like 4x4 (or larger), not 2x4, but the strength is in the depth more than the width.

I spent some time body mounting some hopper couplers.   A full knuckle and a few springs were shot into the abyss while building.

Last sunday I went for an "operation day" on my friend's layout , it was a first for me running with Schedule and task to do from point A to Z . We had to meet another train "en route" .
It was a lot of fun .
Did not take a lot of picture but at one place the sun was basking a corner of the layout and I tried for the first time taking a picture under sunlight .
This is a couple of my locos I brought for the session , Kiamichi one was done by Brian ( Flight2000) who posted here a couple of times . I did the DCC conversion , no sound . It's a loco that I saw a picture and tought it would be cool to have one !

I believe I heard Gary Hinshaw muttering something about tracking them on the radar that looks for incoming asteroids and meteors.

I addition to scenicing the long suffering naked corner, I also did a bunch of work on other projects this weekend (helped along by the growler my wife and I split of @ 10%).

First, progress on my AM M53 car. See https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=44234.new#new

While I had the COTS and ACI decals out, I also did some more cars too.

And lastly, I made the final trees I'm planning on making for the current layout. These were the ones for the area behind the tower here.
