Walter and Debbie Vail announced their latest N scale vehicle kit today.  Here is the link to the Sterling rotary dump truck on their web site.  https://www.showcaseminiatures.net/n_scale/n_scale_vehicles/135.html

And, here is a link for information on the prototype.  http://www.hulcher.com/contractor-equipment/engineering-maintenance-of-way/hi-rail-rotary-dump-truck.asp

Carter - to backdate to 1995 - would the IH (or L8000) cab be appropriate?

I presume the ST cab is post 2000 or so?

Lou,

The IH cab should work for 1995.  Sterling trucks came from the Ford Louisville Line that was redesigned in 1996.  Freightliner acquired the Ford Louisville Line in 1997, and rebadged the trucks as Sterlings for the 1999 model year.

Another cab that might work to backdate the truck would be the Atlas Ford LNT-9000 cab.

Thanks Carter...

It looks like every truck manufacturer adopted the "scallop" on the cab door window around 2000 or so?

Coincidence? Competition?  Regulation???

Lou,

I think it was primarily for improved visibility.  Kenworth referred to it as the DayLite door option.
