Personally, as a New York Central modeler, I can't wait for this coach to get released.  Especially if it has the 4 wheel trucks that I seem to remember reading that it would have.  I'll need to collect a small fleet of these over time to properly equip the local passenger trains.  The only thing I'm not looking forward to is that Micro-Trains will end up painting the NYC models in two tone gray, which wasn't done until the mid to late 50's.  So I'll end up repainting and decaling them.  Oh well, at least they'll be the correct car.

Joe, any idea on when we can expect to see the first release of this car?

Thanks,
Brian.

New Haven. On a NH prototype car. You can foobie up anything else even Amtrak as long as you do both the NH green and the red/black paint versions.

If Penn and Uncle Pete did not run single window coaches, why bother?

I understand that the MT single window coach is going to be based on a NYCS prototype which would demand four wheel trucks.  If, in fact, it is to be based on a NYCS prototype, could we get a runner pack with New York Central, Pittsburgh & Lake Erie, Boston & Albany and Peoria & Eastern?

Western Maryland operated single window coaches.

I second this, even though P&LE and P&E wouldn't have traversed the Hudson Division, I would still buy such a set.  B&A passenger cars and locomotives showed up on the Hudson Division, usually mixed in with NYC lettered equipment, so I plan to decal at least a couple of coaches for the B&A...

Joe, just throw all of the single window coach material in the dumpster.
Santa fe fish belly baggages and other heavyweights are the future!

Dave V:  I'd take a couple of those J&S coaches in Nn3, and probably most Nn3 modelers would like one.  We have a few RTR freight cars, but no passenger cars.

That said, my railroad needs newer stuff.  An RhB "Einheitswagen II" would be perfect.  But there's no way MT would make, and probably no US market for, one of those.

Adam,
M&R
Don't put Roberto out of business.  The current MT baggage car is the ideal core for M&R baggage car sides (fishbelly and otherwise), and his RPO sides are a good fit over the MT RPO.  Those would be a piece of cake for a guy who can build a 3460 series Hudson out a MP Mogul (I am still have trouble wrapping my head around that project of yours).

That said, Roberto did sides for 3000-3049 chair cars, but not (AFAIK) 3050-3069, so there is an opening there.

@Shipsure- While for some reason, there are several posters here suggesting things that are not Erie and L&N, keep in mind that Erie remodeled some of their single window coaches into single window diner-parlor (2996) and a diner-lounge (2999)- while retaining the basic windows arrangement and clerestory roof- so by fussing with the interior you get 3 car types for the cost of 1 bodystyle.  And L&N gives you the opportunity to tie up your art department (errr....person) for weeks trying to get the pad printer to knock out flawless Palmer script lettering.

Of course, I know there is no way you will do Erie 2 tone green until the day after the decals dry on my last custom paint and lettering job.
