Just think how easy it would be for them to release a GP38W and GP40W...

F7’s were pushed out another month!  March now.  I think it is going on 4 years since I ordered them!

Be lucky they have a date.  The FP9 I reserved has a TBD listed for at least a year now.  Response is nil if/when they would be run.

Lol, how true!  Next month the F units could be TBD!

Is that with the new tooling dropping body height?

I have a feeling at least on your F's it might be related to the DCC boards, as we have not seen the shorter DCC/Sound boards yet from ESU.  And given the number of manufacturers and models being announced with those boards, I can see an on/off problem with supply going forward, delaying other shipments if ESU can't keep up.  As probably evidenced by the shipping of SD40-2 orders and the long break recently between runs.

Oh man, I forgot they were doing the ugliest diesel in service in the US today: http://www.intermountain-railway.com/n/html/69308.htm

That paint scheme makes me think the PN is trying to prevent that thing from getting torpedoed by a uboat.

New tooling with DCC and sound options. I don’t know about the height.  Since I don’t like DCC and bought  these to run with previous releases I don’t appreciate the delay and will not be happy if they don’t align nicely with the older units.

These new SD40-2Ws ride on the new SD40-2 chassis? I'm guessing the next run of SD45-2 will do the same.

So you want them to continue to sit too high?

They look so much better when modified to sit at the right height...

If they make my dozens of others f units look like crap than no I don’t. I don’t need three oddball units.  Honestly the only reason I haven’t cancelled the order is that it punishes the hobby shop I ordered them from. This is one of those times when I don’t get caught up in the RW fanaticism.

If wanting a correctly scaled model makes me a fanatic then I am a huge fanatic.

Scale models matter.

And I am happy for you!  Would be nice if you could extend the same courtesy, but I suppose that is too much to ask.  If you had to wait for 4 years for changes in the model that did absolutely nothing to inhance your enjoyment of the hobby or the model itself you might be a little put off.  With the size of my collection I will never have enough time to convert it to DCC even if I wanted.  I also don’t have the time or interest to modify my fleet of F units to match the new run’s ride height if it is different. So, for me it is 3 years I could have been enjoying it running on my layout instead of waiting for things that don’t add value to me.  I simply get a lighter model with less pulling capacity.
