Bmann wants $60 for Fix !!

Hi again.
I have an HO Bmann 2-6-0 that has lost its sound..Believe me. I've done every digital test/factory default one can do with no dice !!
I believe then it must be a hard wire/speaker problem, not programming.. Anyone have any advice I may not be trying ?
I doubt I will ever give Bman $60.00 this....

But to the original question. No I wouldn't pay Bachmann $60 you could probably get a sound decoder cheaper than that. I'm not a DCC guy, but maybe someone here could take a look at it.

It's probably $60 dollars MSRP, but $24.95 street and then $15 at Trainworld, if you're willing to wait.

Now, *THAT* was funny!

But I think in this case the $60 is for a fix (sending the model back to Bachmann for repairs), so there will not be any Trainworld closeout deal.  :)

Oh no, I was aware of that.  That was just my joke.

If you don't want to change the units out wait for a 25% off parts sale at Bachmann Parts.  They do them occasionally.

Sorry for late reply. Problem there is we haven't eliminated it being a hard wire fault, first.. I buy $28 decoder . I unsolder orig decoder .
I solder in (doubt it's an 8 pin plug) the $28 !
I Run loco . Loco still silent !!!  AAAaarrrrrrggggghhhh !!!  :scared:
Replies appreciated, tho. M
