Continuing with PTC equipment on The Sub. 

This setup is at the Bealville crossovers - a folding tower.



A similar situation is at CP Cliff, where the engineering department had to install a retaining wall to make room for the gear:



I actually saw a similar setup in South Dakota a couple days ago.

The only thing I would change is the intensity. If I can't do it through the DZ126, I will have to change the resistor on the lightboards.

Jim, I have been following your updates - looking really good. How did you model the solar cells?

Jason:  One suggestion for adding standard MT pockets to your flatcar:  Make the top of the box part of the car.  It will allow the car to sit lower than a standard screw-on box, and should still have enough thickness for the screw to hold.

Also, many people here will probably disagree, but if you do that, a 1025 coupler would look much better, as the box is thinner.  My biggest objection to the 1015 is the thickness, with that big lump hanging under the end of the car.  The 1025 is about the same thickness as a standard center sill/draft gear.

With the box top as part of the car, it should be possible to install a True Scale coupler in a 1025 mount.  The screw is in the same place as the 1015, 0.125 inches from the end of the car.

So I got some paint on the tank car to see what it looked like without any work done to smooth out the surface.  I have to say I'm encouraged. 



The next design probably won't have the band on the top (I'll probably have a recess for an etched band to sit in) so all the round surfaces will be able to get sanded without obstruction.

I'm kicking myself for not at least putting the coupler pockets on before printing.    Need. More. Patience.

These look like they would also work for BN fuel tenders converted from former company service cars.  Would save me some work from kitbashing old MDC cars

I do think it is a match for some of the fuel tenders.

Other roads I know of are NP, GN, UP and KATY.

Pole and board are styrene.

Copied a photo I thought looked right, manipulated it in PS - size, mults - and printed result on photo paper. 

Not 1000% happy with them, but good enough IMO

Microscale does solar panel decals in N and HO.

Jason, that works for me, many of the fuel tenders were 19000 gal cars of GN or NP heritage.

If you add body mount coupler boxes, it would be nice, but I am in the market for a few, or 6..
