Just to play a little devil's advocate, those are some really close-up/enlarged photos of the CSX unit and it looks like maybe even some really high-angle lighting was used in those shots. I'd really like to see one in person to see how the relief details looks then. As far as the handrails go, they appear to be possibly a little straighter on the units in the photos earlier in this thread, yes/no?

For what it is worth, I have seen warped handrails from all manufacturers, including K A T O.

Agreed!  But on Kato its usually a design issue like the SD70MAC engineer's side which seemed to always bend inside, not an assembly issue...

This is such crap, they need to hear loudly the disgust here. This is total bull#### at that price point. Anyone hear back from these clowns yet? Sorry it pisses me off that N scalers get crapped on like this. I didn't buy one as they are way out of my era.

Uh, my AC6000, as reported earlier in the thread is perfectly acceptable and as seen in my photos, runs as well as a Fox Valley AC, Kato AC, and an Atlas dash 8.  If it is not in your era, then you are luckily immune from the rigors and trials of the ownership of a BLI AC6000.

I own a CSX and the handrails are just fine, If I could post a picture I would but can't seem to figure out how this forum works, other forum are easy as pie!

I was a little apprehensive about shell removal too. It looks like one has to remove the two couplers (screwed in place), then the shell lifts off..except for wires going to lights housed in the cab. I just set it close to the side of the chassis. The "reset switch" is a small tactile push button mounted on one end of the PC board. Instructions were to place to unit on track with voltage applied and press the button. Hopefully, you will have better luck than me. BL Imports did get in touch with me and offered the option to send a new board to me, so I went with that. I will let you know how it works out.

My BLI AC6000 arrived today. I took it out of the large box. It is surrounded by a foam cradle, and then the loco is inside a clear vinyl casing. Well packaged.  The packaging was surely designed by an engineer ...  I put the loco on the track, set my DT400 to 3 .. and off it went .. over to the JMRI programming track, picked the BLI paragon template.  Read all the CVs -- the loco was set for addy 3, and 127 .. the speed CVs on my unit were all over the place, and takes off like a rocket as soon as you advance the throttle .. will have to work on that some.

paint was good, handrails good, and the details are real nice .. the weird thing is that the interior cab light comes on at the most odd times .. pictures to follow .. overall, I'm happy, and mine runs .. . the sound is good ..

I'd like a CSX one in Bright Future, and the demos have me interested.  Does anyone have any info on the demos and the schemes they wore? I'm having trouble finding good info on the demos.

There we go again.  :facepalm:When I looked the votes on your post were at zero, so someone up-voted it. I just did too, so you're up one.  And I am a big Kato fan.   As you said, it doesn't make sense when people down-vote posts like yours. You weren't negative or nasty by any means.

Took some pix this afternoon ... they are in the gallery -- in fairness .. I had some problems getting this thing out of the packaging .. I didn't realize you had to flip the flap on the end of the plastic .. so some of the gaps in the shell may have been my fault .. but if you take a close look at the handrails .. you can form your own opinion .. this thing runs good ..
