Tis nice, but still wish they had non-sound versions. And I'm not impressed with the Rolling Thunder, I would turn it off majority of the time.

This Lionel-loop-under-the-Christmas-tree approach to "advancing the art" is the very kind of thing that the general public - and media - grabs onto in the reasoning that MRR hobbyists are nothing more than grown-up 8-year-olds, a la "Sheldon Cooper". If I could click a down-arrow for negative respect for BLI, I would, 'cause they have it coming.

Yeah, that 'smoke' completely ruins it for me.   To the point that I irrationally hate this model now..

The smoke is on HO only - I believe....

I'm 50/50 on sounds, but the model itself looks great -  I would not mind having ONE AC6000 running around even at a premium price.  Cheaper than brass to be sure....

Of course from what I've heard FLAME would be more realistic for these big GE's!

The n scale version looks nice. The smoke feature in HO looks positively ********. Smoke, like water, DOES NOT SCALE.

That smoke really does look dumb.

The only smoke that I ever saw that looks astoundingly good was on an O scale GEEP.

Tiny fans blew the smoke out the exhaust- so it actually looked real.

Nothing else has ever come close.

Looking forward to getting some in CSX, but I keep telling myself that as soon as I get them I am tearing out their hit-or-miss gimmick cards (what they call a decoder) and installing something from TCS or Digitrax. Sound does not do it for me and their electronics never seem to play nice with the system's my club uses. Better to use something I know works than pray that BLI did something correct.

On the other hand; I wonder if this one "moo's?" Maybe they will just omit the windows like the slats on their stock cars so that they sound better (ala the Seaboard BQ23-7's).
