Surprised no one mentioned (that I saw) about N Scale Enthusiast doing the Conrail 7776, Helium Cars and Heinz Pickle Cars:

Just ordered my 7776, it's HOT!!!!

The helium cars were never placarded like that, so I can safely surmise it's just the usual NSC/NSE silliness in full play. Most of what they do is tongue-in-cheek, of course, although my issue with the helium cars is they could be misinterpreted as serious representations by the N-Trak audience they are intended for.

Take it from somebody who has interest in helium wells in the Panhandle. (Great investment! Always going up!  )

You mean the real cars didn't glow in the dark?

OMG, I didn't even notice that. I guess there's a market for this kind of tomfoolery - I think I've even perpetrated some of it myself - but at $45/whack that's a little pricey for the MRR equivalent of a whoopie cushion.

Oh no, there is still a strong market out there for these cars (even at $45/whack).  WHile the prices of N scale collectible cars has crashed few years back, collectors are still clamoring for all sorts of unprototypical models.  BUt in the end, prototype modelers and collectors of whimsical cars should coexist in peace - after all, they both buy models resulting in more profit for the manufacturers (providing more R&D money to produce even wider range of models).

I got my MTL Heinz pickle gondola (with a giant pickle load) at the NSE convention and I'm quite happy with it.

The Conrail geometry car is also interesting . . . if the had used a coach it would have been more appropriate.

Au contraire!

I do wish they'd do the coaches too. There are a few shots of the 1933 (it was the assigned unit for this service) and the car by themselves, but many more of them with a few other cars.

Either way, one of the cars is on its way to me. I'm not sure if I'll go do 1933 to go with it, or just use one of my existing stable, but I'm excited to have a quick and easy "visiting train".

I hold it. The notion of upside down isn't worth my time - though I hear there is a way to tell for these phones.

CR 21 would run with the ex-NYC 60' baggage car [forget the #] - and sometime the rail analyzer car which was similar looking to the flat ended PRR Broadway observation cars.

CR 21 btw was ex ATSF, not New Haven..... :)
