I really like that, Dave.  The simplicity while affording the convenience. 8)  The only problem I see in some applications, especially in N scale and a busy yard ladder, is space.  Is that legit or am I lacking some size reference in that concern? :|

It definitely takes up some space, but I think, since they're generally perpendicular to the rails, you could still build an N scale ladder.  There's also ways to minimize their footprint with other products from Fast Tracks.

Here's the fleet to date that has been converted to Sergent Engineering couplers: one SCL GP40, seven freight cars, and one caboose.  I still have another locomotive and six freight cars to do, but I need to order more couplers to convert them.  Some of the ones I've yet to convert will not be easy, as there's no apparent way to remove the (glued on?) coupler box lid on some of these cars.  :scared:

I assume that in these cases the box lid is actually part of the floor casting (I remember some like this in higher-end kits).  I'd get out a big X-acto chisel blade and work on shaving it off then add any shims necessary before adding the new draft gear. A bit more complex but not impossible - it could be worse you know, like doing it in N  :D.

Some of the Athearn Genesis cars use a sort of inverted coupler box with a press fit cover on -top- of the box -- remove the truck screws and see if the entire underframe separating downward will allow the box to open.

Well, here's a test run of using TRW's gallery until I figure out the best way to deal with the Photobucket fiasco.  I'm afraid of using TRW's gallery solely, because I tend to post a lot of photos and don't want to cause problems for :tommann:.  This photo was downloaded from Photobucket with my entire album of approximately 1,100 pictures to my phone and uploaded to TRW.  My way of telling Photobucket to go f*** itself.

Heh, heh.  I tend to stay with what works, plus I'm able to modify and make improvements to what dissatisfied me about v2.0.  ;)

Thanks!  I've taken a lot of effort and time to install the track as I go.  I admit that I'm slowed down, because I'm taking the time to prepare and install the under-the-table Bullfrog Turnout controls.  Holes must be drilled and cleared under the throwbar and through the roadbed and benchwork before the turnout can be installed.  On the v2.0, I just slapped down the turnouts and came back later to install slide switch turnout throws.  I'm also installing the missing ties at rail joints, where in the past, I was guilty of procrastinating on this little task.

A definite eye for nice, flowing, attractive track in a restricted space. 8)

Thanks, @narrowminded!  Those curved turnouts, which I later regretted not using on the v2.0 because I had not yet hand-built an N scale turnout at that time (especially on the turnout at the south end of the passing siding in Southern Pines), really make a difference into what fits into the space.

So you're using "Bullfrog" turnout controls. May I ask why you opted for that particular make?

As always, just asking... :)
