In what decades did UP hopper in the runners pack run?

Dig the TTX 3 pack.

Of interesting note is the announcement of the RBB&B advertising cars.  The first two are scheduled for September.  I've seen historical color pics of the parlor in a book so that one is legit for sure.

While not completely accurate, they're a close analog for the H-70-1 class (6000-7949, renumbered 16000-17949), which ran from the '50s at least into the '70s. The 18400 series seems logical but never existed to my knowledge, the 18200 series being covered hoppers. The H-70-1s were mostly superseded in coal service by the H-100-x class four-bay hoppers.

Not in the July 1966 ORER.  The number series 18200 to 18699 are new additions to the ORER and are open hoppers.  By the numbers, they are identical to the previous number series of hoppers 17950 to 18199.  Also, these series differ from the 16000 to 17949 series.

OK, thanks for the correx, Jason. I combed through the UPHS journal all-time index and couldn't find any reference to a follow-on after the H-70-1. Does the ORER indicate capacity or commodity?

Here's a pic.

The ORER lists both series as 2868 cuft.  Nos. 17950 to 18199 are listed at 180000 lb capy and 18200 to 18699 are listed as 200000 lbs capy.

Wow. Thanks again. No mention whatsoever of an H-90-2 class in any of the UPHS journals. That's more than a little frustrating.

Judging from the picture it appears the MTL car, while old tooling, is very close. I might have to get that runner pack myself. I would surmise the service life would have been '66 through 1990 or so, then.

Don Strack has some nice shots (one being the same as the one I posted from RR-Fallenflags).

My last ORER is 1980 which shows 481 cars in the 18200 to 18699 series still listed.  Interestingly, some of the previous series cars had a special lining added for hauling salt.

I'm liking the P&LE hopper ( There goes some more of the paycheck, don't tell the wife :D )  Just wish Micro-Trains would have done a runner pack of the P&LE hoppers? They also need to do a runner pack of the P&LE 50' gondolas  :D

Hmm... how did that
happen...?

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.
"It works! It works!"
